Happy buffday to your dad books,
think Mr S (and maybe Mr CK) thinks of himself as the provider and looker aftrerer and doesn't like to feel as if he's fullfilling these jobs being unable to work and having to ask for the heavy/hard work to be done by me , though not sure,
Think more than anything its the useless feeling that he even needs help to put his socks on and is incapable of getting out of bed by himself though am sure if the roles where reversed he would do exactly the same for me .............embarrased or not

Thanks for the buffday wishes for my dad Stan.
I can understand where you are coming from. I must admit that I am independent and when I've had one of to have my ankle removed and then another one to have a bone graft done on the same ankle a year later, it's annoyed me that there's plenty I couldn't do. It is annoying. At least I am mobile again and have been for several years now.
