It depends what you do with them - had a fantastic moussaka the other week, and I like them in ratatouille

Maybe I just had a dud one then, Stroppy.  Tasteless, with an unpleasant texture.  I thought it would be a bit like a courgette but I can't honestly say I tasted anything.  Good news is, I only paid 39p for a large one from Lidl.  Bad news is, I bought 2.

I'm not sure that I would fancy them on their own, but as part of dish they are fine. Try googling for recipes and see if you can find something that you fancy. You might try them as part of mixed roast veggies.

They don't have a lot of flavour, but they tend to soak up flavours such as garlic, tomato etc. They can also be bitter depending on how you prepare them.

I've never tried aubergines.  I prefer celery cooked to having it raw though.

Eggplant parmesan is lovely. We call Aubergines- eggplants. 🙂 Love moussaka and ratatouille. Also you can do them stuffed. I have a recipe in my Australian Womans cooking mag that you cut in half and then cut slits to make it fan out and put some tomato paste and mozzarella slices between the slices and then bake. Also with some garlic and herbs. It is really yummy.

Life is too short so enjoy it while you can!
