Do folks do things with the remnants of any roast the day before?
As I'm on me own, doing a roast is a thing of the past so I no longer get to do luvly bubble n squeak with cold cuts.
It's Spring but not quite moved far enough away from Winter yet.
So for supper/evening yummies, I'm going to heat up a lovely one person quiche and have it with a bit of healthy crunchy green and red salad.
Time for a cuppa right now tho.

Well I succumbed to the turkey again. Must admit though, we've not had it for a few days so I can't really complain. With the turkey, we had mixed veg and gravy.

What I'd like to know is why can't ironing be computerized? That, along with cleaning windows are jobs I hate.

I cook a roast for myself. You can get a piece of beef for a fiver and it still does more than one meal so doesn't work out expensive.
If you bought a whole chicken it would last you a good part of the week, and you could always freeze half once it's cooked.
He's having chicken stew and I'm having a mixture of Chinese ribs and Chinese drumsticks. I might have some veg with them.
He'll have rice pud and I think I'll have a cornetto (or two)

We don't buy a beef joint, we buy cooked sliced roast beef and heat it in some gravy, so no left overs. If we have a chicken we buy a very small chicken (£2) and the left-over chicken makes sandwich filling for a few days, and the carcase makes soup. Lamb we usually buy chops, so no left overs, and every so often we buy a joint of pork shoulder, cut it into 1 meal sizes and freeze the extra, so again there isn't any left over.
Tonight will be salmon, new spuds and spinach.

Don't have any freezing capacity - just a wee fridge with a teensy compartment for the frozen peas.
I can cook a roasty if I really wanted to, but it still turns out like I'm feeding the 5000 and as the body problems increase, I'm actually not very safe getting things out of the oven so have to be a wee bit careful now.
I will unashamedly admit to having "not just any old roast dinner but you know who's roast dinner for one" - although I wish they did a bit more veggies and leave out one of the 2 yorkshire puds.
