They say every mans home is his castle and my home went dark when we had to let Susie go to play at Rainbow Bridge hence the name dark_castle, now it is very dark because we had to let Benny go and play with his mum on the 26th August, the day we were actually all going away on holiday.
What a strange drive it was up to the caravan not having a furry friend in the back seat of the car and we are still not over not having a furry friend at home after 20 years of having at least one.
R.I.P. my dear friends and enjoy playing at Rainbow Bridge until we meet again.

Very sad...my heart goes out to you & your wife DC
Maybe there is another wee dog just waiting for a forever home?

Very sorry to hear this DC. It comes to all of us dog lovers, and the more we loved them the harder it hits us.
I'm sure when you feel up to it, there'll be another little dog just waiting and hoping for someone like you to give them a loving home. X

I was going to say the same. I know exactly how you feel, and we ended up having two or three dogless holidays, me in the back of the car "keeping the dog's place warm". A dog you loved can't be replaced, and we thought maybe there would never be another one for us, but then Robbie found us, and the light came on again. All the best.

Thank you all for your very kind words and support.
Maybe one day another furry baby will find us and gives us the honour and privilege of taking care of them.
