It is ok now cookie ! had a chicken leg cooked in the halogen cooker thingy. It is brill and so quick, sealed the outside and kept all the inside lovely and juicy.

Dark, when you mention the halogen cooker, I was thinking of getting one, but the thing that put me off, was whether you can get replacement halogen light-bulbs, when they burn out, as they must do - where can the spares be obtained? Thanks for your advice

Ebay or The Big River, only two of many places. Maybe even E Spares although I have not tried them for that but other things I have and found them invaluable and cost effective.
