what happened to the completed items section?

If you mean search results it's still there if you  use advanced search (next to the blue search tab at top right of My eBay page).

I have the same problem.  When you look at seller's other items the left hand menu has vanished so you can no longer see their completed listings.

If you search for a specific item and not the seller then you can still see it.
