I basically can't buy anything on Ebay anymore because of hcaptcha blocking the sale. Countlessly offering me the same simple ID tests over and over. Can I tell the difference between a lion and a bike. Yes I can!!!! try again, try again, try again. Insane 1984 stuff. Who can I complain too or do I need to set up a new account?

Not much help to you practically, but Mrs K pointed out a recent survey that suggests AI can successfully complete 80 percent of these Captcha puzzles while humans manage between 50 and 75 percent.

 this obstruction started popping up for me a few months back.  the tests were to identify generated impressions of flowers and bees as photos of flowers and bees, which of course they were not.

 anyhow, after negotiating with the llm (large language model) empowered assistant and reaching customer service, i was told to delete my browser's cache.

 since i'm on metered data i only deleted the cached data for ebay by pressing the padlock icon in the address bar.  that worked.  although i did encounter the putrid excuse for a security feature again it went away after a few hours.

 so i simply suggest trying the cache first incase it can save you a trip to the fool's switchboard.
