Looking at my list of documents yesterday, I noticed that I'd got two with the same file name. I'll call them "original" and "ghost"?
Now I made some changes to original yesterday but when I looked at ghost, the changes were also in that one. It seems to me that if I deleted ghost, I'd also delete original? Also, if I "Remove from list" I'd also be removing original too?
Am I now stuck with the two or is there some way of removing ghost? I don't know how I ended up with two.

Spooky!
Glad it's sorted itself out anyway.

What's your take on what happened?
Oh yes, I've noticed that you were quite right about small files when saving, it's so quick the Black line doesn't appear. The doc that I was working on was 1148kb but the one I've just started is only 19kb. I noticed that it was so quick I only just spotted the Word is saving ******* box before it was done and gone.

Difficult to establish what actually happened without seeing it 'live', so it will probably remain one of life's little mysteries.

The "little mysteries" are a (expletive deleted) nuisance. Far too much of it where computers are concerned?

Over time, I've used three word processing programs. Initially I used Lotus 1-2-3, then went on to MSWorks, then MSWord.
I think a straightforward word processor doesn't need constant meddling and things "they" do to an established program are more of a nuisance than useful?
