After being here since Yahoo Auctions, which were great and bought by Ebay and destroyed,
i have seen it go from a decent Auction site to an over priced sales site.
so many scammers, loopholes and people out to make money and the main one is ebay.
Buyer protection, so now the buyer pays the fee's, utter scam..
Ebay can 'look after' your money for three months until payout, scam, they make all that interest off YOUR money. the more money they have the more money THEY make in interest.
Think about it, you sell something, it stays in ebays bank (your ebay funds) you buy something with that money and it stays in ebays banks (the sellers funds) and it goes on and on until someone draws it out or ebay draws it out for you every three months..
Simple postage, SCAM and RIP OFF
so a seller can't add £1 to their postage any more to cover cost's in tape, and packing materials,
so the seller now puts the price up to cover these cost's and then with the ebay 'buyer protection' it's often cheaper buying off Amazon, Aliexpress or just going to the shop..
Ebay has ruined what used to be a good fun Auction site..
Who would use ebay if it was an Auction site ??
An idea for ebay maybe..
All Private listings start at 99p auction only (no buy it nows)
reserves don't start at £50,
fee's ?? no fee's
Fixed £1 buyer protection.
fee's only on reserves at 10%.
Private sellers can't list buy it now,
Business sellers can list buy it now and they pay fee's like they do already.
if a business seller wants to auction, same rules apply as a private seller with fixed final value fee of 10%
postage left the same as it is now simple delivery, but with added £1 for 'packing and handling' cost's.
this fee can be £1.50 if NOT collected from the seller address.
ebay balance can still stay in ebay so they can still make money form our interest they make..
Imagine it..
going on ebay, joining a live auction and actually bidding on stuff in the hope to win, rather than just finding an item a greedy seller wants triple it's value, but your are desperate for it and you have money in your ebay balance so have buy it regardless the cost.
Ebid, Etsy, and a few others look so much better now days..

"Ebay has ruined what used to be a good fun Auction site"
Not really, shill bidders and auction wreckers ruin things.
In any event many sellers will block you once they see your massive number of bid retractions.
