3 "sales" so far this week where the buyers have not paid. theyve sent me an offer, i've accepted and then no payment. the items all have "immediate payment" box ticked and i thought eBay made you confirm a payment method when making offers.
am i missing something here or does the system just not work?

"immediate payment" doesn't apply to "offers" ,it only works when buyer pays full buy it now price.
The "pre approval" on offers that Ebay recently introduced can be turned on and off via your buyer preferences.

That auto immediate payment when you accept an offer on the face of things is a good idea to stop ' non payments'.
However, it does need refining and we hear eBay are working on this, the quicker the better, as it does reduce a buyer's options for payment. Amongst other restrictions buyers cannot use PayPal Credit request combine postage, use coupons any of these can be preventing your buyer paying.
If you wish you can opt out of this option here:

Then below Buyer requirements you will see the little box to untick to stop these immediate payments for offers.
Then, perhaps send your buyers a message this has been done, and it should not prevent them selecting their chosen methods of payments at eBay checkout.
Hopefully this will help.
