Message about Vat

I have been told bidders on my items are receiving emails saying they will be charged 20% vat.

im uk based so are the bidders/buyers ... this is affecting my listing and I could lose a sale as my bidder is going to withdraw bid?? HELP

In case it helps others, if both of you are in the UK but either account is registered in another country, then you will be charged VAT. For example, an American living in London and buying on eBay UK with their eBay.com account will be charged VAT.
