I recently sold some jewellery for £3.65, the buyer used the £1.55 postage rate and the item was posted that same day which was a Friday. Fast forward, the parcel took 10 days to get there. When they reached out to me they grumbled and moaned, and finally when they said they needed to return the item as it was a gift, and had missed the birthday date. I agreed to the return, as I want to keep my customers happy and keep my account hassle free. I asked a couple of questioned and went off-line to sort out a label in the royal mail app. When I went into eBay later to send the label they had opened a return request, stating the item was not as described......but added "no option for late postage". I clarified this with the buyer again, and again "the item was fine, I just took too long to get here". I have no issue refunding (which I did), and the item has been returned, refunded and the return closed. I have lost postage, but that isn't my issue. What I am not happy about is the "not a described" mark which is now holding on my account I have reported the buyer and blocked them. Will eBay remove that mark against my account? It's only been a few days, but I don't do patient very well.

As you accepted the return it shouldn't have any affect on your account. eBay don't usually remove defects, if there is one.

Ok, thanks for that. I shall endeavour to stop stressing over it.

I think "Not as described" is the accepted reason for "Arrived late". Ebay really should update their policies.
