FORUM CORRESPONDENTS AND POSTERS

There are too many “regular correspondents and posters” on this public forum only out to see ticks beside their eBay I D.

Plus of course, they know better than the majority of us ??????

Wow surely that can't be true? I wonder how they measure that and what happens if you leave a page open or just have it as one of many background tabs in your browser?

OMG!  I thought at first that I'd spent several trillion minutes on the forum,  but then I realised I was looking at the IP address 🤣

I assumed the OP meant "ticks" as in when someone accepts a solution, otherwise s/he'd have said "thumbs up" surely?

Me too - I'm opening champagne when I've read half a million posts, won't be long now!

I didn't know solutions got ticks, I don't see many of them.

I thought the OP might be using a mobile where the App. shows Kudos by ticking a box.

With so few threads having a solution accepted, surely the OP did mean others collecting Likes, Helpfuls or Kudos ?

Ah I see, you're probably right.  I'm viewing on a laptop where you click an actual image of a thumb-up for Kudos.  I thought the OP meant like in this screenshot where there's a green tick.

So what's the OP got against Kudos, if that's what s/he means?  I give a thumbs-up for all sorts of reasons - to agree with the post, to thank someone, to acknowledge a post, maybe because it's made me laugh, I can't see the problem with giving a thumbs-up.  If everybody who agrees with a post all writes "I agree with that" instead of giving a thumbs-up, whole pages could have nothing but agreements on them!

Nobody wants to see here what has happened to the Experienced Seller (former Powerseller) Board which is so dead that tumbleweed blowing through is an event.  Even if I don't agree with every post they are welcome as part of any discussion.

I'm also using a lap-top so I'm only guessing, I've never viewed the boards on the App.

I can't speak for the OP but perhaps they think the "Most Helpful Authors" board is still rigged in some way ?  I've just had a look and it looks pretty accurate to me, given the huge numbers of replies that a few long threads have received over the past weeks.

Personally I'd like to see "helpful" replaced by 'Kudos' or 'like' , removing any implication that those on it are more helpful than anyone else.  That was the point of rigging who got onto the board.  Or perhaps we need a Like and a Helpful button to distinguish between the two and give recognition to those who spend their time being helpful, rather than those who say something that's popular ?

The "Fan Boys" were very pro-ebay and spent most of their time defending it, not being helpful at all, just stifling criticism.  Rejecting all criticism, talking down to any critic and dismissing any evidence contrary  to their views.  All done with an attitude of superiority designed to wind-up even the calmest poster.  Their Kudos-ing of each other (and themselves) became so blatant that it began to be commented on  --  How was it possible that a handful of people who dis-agreed with the majority of posters and their comments remained at the top of board for so long ?

They may not be perfect but now, but SC is, IMO,more balanced than it was a few years ago ?
