Buyer Protection Fee, why oh why!

So as with most sellers on here, my sales have dropped significantly, from 20+ items per month (as a private seller) to now not even 1 sale per month. I received a message from a buyer today after they had asked what my lowest offer on an item would be (it was £4 but with bpf almost £5) They said as a buyer it is just not worth them buying cheaper items anymore as the fee pushes up the price etc and they understood why its not worth it for sellers to drop their prices. Do we think this will be a permanent thing for ebay having the bpf? There is almost no point in me selling my items on here anymore if nobody is buying and I'd rather give to charity shop than make £2 on something!

I think bpf is here to stay ..a nice little earner for doing virtually nothing for ebay.

I have already disposed of most of my small items + jigsaws etc; to my local hospice charity shop as It is impossible to set a price that people will buy  at, that includes bpf.

Also I have stopped buying on ebay for the same reasons.

I'm also giving stuff to charity shops, it's just not worth the effort any more.
