A buyer left negative feeback "by mistake" ebay won't remove it

Buyer feedback: "Disappointed from the description I thought it was a real open painting, not an oil painting printed on canvas that said l love the picture"

Buyer eBay message:  "I am sorry after examining the item more closely I realise it is an Oil painting and not an oil painting printed on canvas as I cannot find a way to remove my feedback. Please accept my apologies pip"

Feedback revision request sent and buyer says they don't know how to do the revision still.

Ebay response: We reviewed your request to remove the feedback received for this transaction:
Order number: 01-12284-95679
Item ID: 266621311700
Buyer: leo-479281

Our decision
We reviewed the feedback, and can see that the buyer found that the item wasn't as described in the listing.

For this reason, the feedback was not removed. Just so you know, this feedback will not impact your seller performance level.


We understand this may not be the response you hoped for, however, maintaining consistent standards for all sellers helps keep our marketplace trusted and fair.

A buyer left negative feeback "by mistake" ebay won't remove it

I take it the ebay refusal was after you put in a request direct?   The only way you'll get rid of it is if the buyer completes the request you sent them.    They should have received it in an email with instructions on what to do.

 

The ebay information says the following:

 

What happens when a seller sends a feedback revision request?
If a seller sends a feedback revision request, we'll send you an email with all the details. You'll then have 10 calendar days to:
Revise the feedback – Select Accept request in the email and we'll guide you through the process of changing your rating and comment. When you revise or remove feedback, your original comments will no longer be visible.
If you haven't taken any action after 7 calendar days, we'll send you a reminder. If you don't respond within 10 calendar days, the revision request will expire and the feedback won't be changed.

When did you add the follow up ?.

 

Only asking as it used to be the case that getting feedback removed was more difficult if the seller had added a follow up.
