Hi everybody!
The Community Chat will open at 2pm and will remain open until 3pm on Wednesday. After that it will be closed for further questions. Of course, we will continue to take care of answering any questions that may still be unanswered—We’ll get to everything as quickly as possible.
Please ask your questions in the thread below. In order to be able to answer your questions as quickly as possible, we ask you to have one question per post. Of course, you can make as many posts as you like in the Chat- the more the merrier!
Our eBay Community Team is made up of kat@ebay , dave@ebay and marco@ebay . Between us, we have knowledge in Buying, Selling, Fulfilment, Payments, and the Community itself. Anything we aren’t sure on we’ll know the people who will be! Please ask us any questions you may have and we’ll do all we can to support. We understand that certain topics, such as concerns about businesses possibly using private accounts, can be frustrating and important to you. Please refrain from asking the same question repeatedly in our weekly live chats. We assure you that we carefully review all posts in the forum and ensure that your concerns are communicated to the relevant teams for appropriate action.
To maintain a constructive and community environment, posts that repeatedly breach this guideline may be removed. Continued violations could result in further action against your community account. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding in helping us keep our community focused and respectful.
To ask your question, click Reply in the lower-right corner of this post, type your question, and click Reply between 2pm and 3pm. The community team will answer each incoming question in chronological order and will quote the original question in each answer.
Please note that any reply without a question to the community team or discussion replies may be removed from the chat. We want to keep on track to get through as many questions as possible. We welcome all discussion to be moved to the discussion boards.
If you missed the weekly chat time, please ask your question in the community boards and tag us or we will be back next week with another chat!
Many thanks,
Your eBay Community Team

Hi
Could you give an update on combined postage under Simple Delivery? Currently if a buyer buys several items from me and pays postage, I can package the items together, weigh and then refund any excess postage. Will this be possible when Simple Delivery is fully rolled out?
Thanks
Andrew

The send offer to buyers list on the app seems to have had an update recently which has made it less user friendly. It used to be possible to click a particular listing to directly go into it to check things before deciding whether to send an offer out. Now if I click the listing it just ticks the box to the left to let me select it for offers, meaning I have to come out of there and find the listing in active listings.
Design changes like this chip away at accessibility and keep adding time to basic actions that were once taken for granted.
To give another example, if I want to buy a Royal Mail 2nd Class 500g large letter I can’t directly choose the 250-500g band, that has been taken away now. I can choose 250g-750g for the £2.50 price instead of the £2.20 I should have for the 500g label. To get that I have to manually enter a weight between 250g-500g to get the service I want to buy.

Sorry, another question!
On the active listings page there is currently a 'postage cost' column. When simple delivery is mandatory will there be a column showing simple delivery size / weight band? Or will this postage cost column show the simple delivery postage cost?
And similarly on the bulk listings page will there be a column where we can see the size / weight band and edit in bulk?
Finally it would be very helpful if both the active listings page and the bulk listings editor could include a column showing the price shown to buyers, ie including Buyer Protection Fee. In an ideal world this would be editable and update the seller price accordingly but even just to see it would be helpful.
Hi wellingnorth, thanks for your question.
With Simple Delivery you won't be seeing that as Simple Delivery does everything automatically for you, and regarding your suggestion, we will pass that on for you no problem, thanks for letting us know about that.
Thank you,
Marco

Good Afternoon community team
In every business I’ve worked in bulk buyers, frequent users ie business accounts are invested in, given discounts and the relationship nurtured and maintained.
Could we have a new refreshing promotion , other than the repetitive “get 20% off general promoted listings’ or ‘£100 to promote offsite’ ?
Maybe upgrade your shop subscription for one month, get one month free?
A choice of the auction listings in a shop subscriptions being converted to BIN?
I just want to list, sell, repeat!

Hi @andreparr14 ,
We are awaiting confirmation on this being available with Simple Delivery. Once I have clarification on it I will follow up with you here.
Thank you,
Kat

Thank you Marco, regarding the first part of my question, I'm not sure if I expressed myself clearly. It's my understanding that with simple delivery sellers can choose the size / weight band for each item (and that ebay will automatically guess the band for existing listings).
So I was hoping that the size / weight band for each item will be visible on the active listing page and editable on the bulk listing page, will that be possible?

Hi technthread, thanks for your question.
For the Listings eligible to send offers in the app, this is a technical issue, and we are aware of this. So, once this is resolved, you should be able to do that again.
Regarding the 2nd example, I believe that was an update, so that will remain the same for now. However, I'd be happy to pass on your feedback on this, so this can be taken into consideration. However, as we always say, please note that us sharing feedback/suggestions doesn't necessarily means that changes will be made around the feedback or suggestion in question.
Thank you,
Marco

"The reason why you're seeing different scenarios is because items, locations, services may vary from time to time depending on the transaction."
How does this help? Sellers need to know what the postage cost is going to be. Royal Mail charge £1.55 for a second class large letter which most buyers are happy with for low cost items. With Simple Delivery the cost seems to be around £2.40 which almost doubles the cost of some low price items. Surely large letters under 100g for items under £10 should be excluded, the same way that <100g letters are.

Hi @bojangled
I don't know what the requirements are when the guys plan their promotions so I cant say if it's a possibility.
I'll definitely pass this back the promo team as an ask for future campaigns.
Thanks,
Dave

Yes, so you can enter the weight and size when listing an item in your listing page. However, this is optional, but you will have the option available for you if you want to use it.
For better visibility, this is what the postage part of your listing page looks like with Simple Delivery, as you can see the weight and size section is still there.
Thank you,
Marco

I had a buyer yesterday who could not pay for the item as he is in Jersey Channel Islands. I do not have Jersey CI excluded from my locations. I only use Royal Mail so it is not a courier issue. I have cancelled and relisted the item (after first advising him I would do this so he could try again). Is this due to the Simple Delivery process or some other issue? Royal Mail charge the same for Jersey as the rest of UK. Please advise how best to proceed with future transactions from CI?
Hi caerleon1959, thanks for your patience on this.
I was reviewing this for you, and it looks like the listing in question was excluding your buyer's location, which is why they were unable to pay for it. I've just sent you a private message with more information since this chat is now closed, so you can take a closer look if you wish.
Thank you,
Marco
