The Community Chat will open at 2pm and will remain open until 3pm on Wednesday. After that it will be closed for further questions. Of course, we will continue to take care of answering any questions that may still be unanswered—We’ll get to everything as quickly as possible.

I'm having a bit of an issue understanding eBay Premium Service now especially in light of this automatic feedback. 

Now as far as I understand it to get eBay Premium Service badge, and subsequent benefits you need to send your item with a carrier that is 3 days or less as well as other hoops you have to jump through like offering an express service and a tracked service option and 30 day returns. I remember, although this may be my memory, that it used to be a 2 day delivery service with an express & tracked option, so that used to rule out people selling items via 2nd class post. 

Was this always the case and it Premium Service badge even if you posted with 2nd class post?

Which brings me to the 2nd question - automatic positive feedback. Now according to eBay you get this if


Tracking shows the item was delivered on time

The buyer hasn’t left feedback yet

The buyer hasn't reported an issue or opened a return on their order

So how do sellers who post via 2nd class post, which isnt tracked get automatic positive feedback as I've just noticed this had been started last night and today?

So if this now stands, pretty much everyone will be getting automatic feedback & Premium Service badges or am I not getting this correctly, yes?

Will eBay change direction and make "Simple Delivery" optional - I and many others do not want this to be mandatory?

Q Why is it when listing an item the  category search is not very good at finding the right category ?  and searching for items in the general search is poor  ,when you can find more using the web search outside of Ebay for items on Ebay

Under "Simple Delivery" why are there not weight bands between 2kg and 15kg?? Why can't eBay adopt the existing Royal Mail bands, especially if EVRI is unselected?

We have been passing the sentiment from the community to the Simple Delivery Team but there are no plans to change the rollout.

Hi.

Please can you give a explanation as to how these changes benefit users because from a PR point of view it's a monumental disaster. As a seller I cannot deal directly with RM anymore and as a buyer I know I am paying more than a seller lists a item for. How is this beneficial.

Hi dantwocats, thanks for your question.

 

You mean you find fewer results when you are in eBay, but get more results from eBay when you search from Google? If so, what way are you searching? As in are you using filters, or few key words, etc.

Hi, just following up on problem I brought up on the weekly chats 12th & 19th March with the ordering of items in the Lowest Price search not working (private buyer items coming ahead of business even though they are not cheaper). I know from other threads that this has been reported by others too.

 

Can you advise why it still isn't working and when it will be fixed?

My second question is are the forums actually moderated by humans or A.I because I have responded to messages saying I disagree with a decision and have asked for clarification and not once have I had a reply. To make matters worse I have emailed the Community Team more than once and yet again i have never had a response. Why is this ?

Not really sure what you're referring to with the above, is this related to the sort order that was discussed a few this ago? As in when you filter items from lowest to highest? Is that a list of how it is currently displayed or a few examples?

Yes if 2nd class post was used it was not eligible for premium service.  The below is where automated feedback is left

 

eBay automated feedback

eBay automated feedback is automatically added to the seller’s account when a transaction is successfully completed. This positive feedback gives other eBay users confidence in this seller and in our marketplace. We only do this if the following criteria are met:

  • You didn't leave feedback within 7 days of delivery (as confirmed by tracking)
  • We can’t see any indication of an issue with the transaction
  • Tracking shows the item was delivered on time

Hi @andreparr14 

 

When the Simple Delivery Mandate rolls out to an account it will have the option for 2 to 10kg. If it's not available to you it means your account hasn't been updated yet, it will become available to you soon.

Hi @dantwocats ,

 

It's gradually being mandated across all private sellers accounts since the 15th of April. There is no other changes to Simple Delivery currently as it will continue to update to private accounts.

Many people do not want to use EVRI as a courier, and whilst it is useful to be able to de-select them, why does this result in the cost of Royal Mail postage options increasing!
