95% of private seller's sales *have* to use S.D.
There is a way to make ebay combine the postage but it only kicks in if the *buyer* uses the 'basket' method.
Most buyers and most private sellers don't know this.
If the buyer doesn't use 'the basket' method, there is no mechanism for the seller to combine postage.
The only other way of doing it is to cancel all the separate sales, re-list as one large lot and the buyer re-buys.
(And the buyer and seller really have to trust each other to do this.)
