Hi. I have bought a smart speaker described as "unit only". I assumed this meant it no longer had its box/packaging. Turns out it has no plug or adapter, so is useless to me. Seller is saying it clearly means they were only selling the item. So I now need to buy a £14 adapter.
Do you agree with the seller or should I have expected a functioning unit? I don't want to raise a case if I've just been mistaken.
Also, they do not accept returns and recent feedback says they have sold another item without including the vital/bespoke cable.
Thanks

I'd take "unit only" as meaning just that. I'd also look at the pictures to make sure that any cables &c were present, if they were you may have a case as pictures are part of the description.
That said, as a Seller, I'd make it clearer by explicitly saying that no cables, documentation or original packaging was included.

Stating no returns means little if item is not as described.See :- https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/policies/ebay-money-back-guarantee-policy/ebay-money-back-guarantee-poli...

If the seller didn't make it clear that an essential accessory, such as a power adaptor/plug, wasn't included then you are perfectly within your rights to open a return request citing the reason 'Doesn't match description or photos'. As already advised 'No returns' only applies to change of mind returns, which this isn't.

Unit only is a fairly clear description through my eyes.

Its a bit like buying a power tool. "body only" if in the know you know this means no battery.
If unsure about an item and its contents its best to ask the seller the question first.
