Is Evri killing Ebay?

There are plenty threads with people complaining about Evri, many have replys from happy customers saying  " I havn't had a problem with Evri" but if you did then you would find out just what a joke they are.

The measure of a company is how they deal with problems.

Try contacting customer services! They will email you quick smart.... but its just an automated reply, generic, sent to everyone that starts a chat on line .

Phone them...its no better.

They left my parcel outside in the street,(not the first time) its been stolen (also not the first time).

They have a tracking photo that proves non delivery, its in the street otside my closed door.

Yet ebay say the tracking shows delivered.

The sale of goods act 2015 means nothing to ebay.

For me, Evri is killing Ebay

As a buyer, I won't buy any items unless the delivery is Royal Mail. 

Evri are dreadful where I live - items just dumped on the doorstep, can't even be bothered to ring the doorbell to let you know something has arrived.

I am tired of sellers telling me that the item is tracked; what good is that if Evri dump it on the wrong step, or someone helps himself to my parcel from my doorstep? Evri and ebay will just claim that it has been delivered.

I wish I knew why ebay are forcing this on private sellers and their buyers; I believe there are ways round it - some sellers have managed it, but it isn't easy.

Ebay, like Evri, are now a truly diabolical organisation.

This is what I also did today. Seller had to cancel after payment and re-list with RM.

He agreed beforehand for RM but the system forced him into evri.

I had managed to persuade my Evri driver to put parcels in my recycling shed. Don’t know if he has forgotten or there is a new driver I came home to find parcels for my daughter left on the communal path next to the shed!

My latest package ( was supposed to be sent via Royal Mail but sent with Evri instead) showed as being out for delivery on 16/06, I waited in, then they said it would be delivered the next day, again I was home, on 18/06 I asked for it to be delivered to a parcel shop, no tracking update since and today 01/07 it’s being returned to sender! 
 Sender has asked that I contact Evri ASAP to get it sent to me 😄

Tell the seller you cannot be messed about by evri and if they do not like it go to another seller after all if they stand for there customers to be messed about they do not deserve your custom they will soon get the message regards brian

Hi in future before you buy ask the seller who they use to deliver if it is evri let them know that you are not happy and that you are going to use another seller and do so the sellers will soon get the message that customers will buy elsewhere and change there attitude regards brian

Where I live Royal Mail lose every other parcel whereas Evri get everything sorted, never had an issue with them. 

With evri if you get an issue, ebay auto refund. 

With Royal Mail if you get an issue you are screwed. (and you will).

That wasn’t my experience.  Evri said they delivered, eBay took their photo of a parcel on the public footpath as proof of delivery.

That is not unique to Evri, ebay MBG works on the carrier's delivery confirmation and delivery coordinates - it is applied to all carriers RM, DPD all of them.  

There are acceptable methods of challenge ie a transcript of chat or letter confirmation from the carrier confirming the package has been incorrectly delivered - ebay will reverse the decision based on this type of evidence.

Evri also will consider a misdelivery claim up to the value of the insurance included or added

The biggest issue with Evri is its totally dependant on the particular person you have delivering for them.

When Hermes first started the courier we had was fantastically reliable and gave us both her mobile and home phone numbers just in case of any problems so for years we couldn't understand why so many people seem to have a problem with Hermes but five years on they told her she needed to almost double her round size or leave so felt she had no option but to stop working for them - A sad day.

The next chap was OK to start but as we live in a rural location if he didn't have many deliveries in our village he just didn't bother to collect or deliver that day a big issue for my neighbour as he sometimes had 20+ parcels a day and found complaining to Hermes achieved nothing but we assumed people eventually had enough because suddenly he was gone but we discovered from the next person that he had just left .

This next lot were even worse than the last and if anyone ever had the affront to question why their parcel hadn't been collected or delivered they got a torrent of verbal abuse and the now rebranded Evri did absolutely nothing as always - This little snowflake then smashed into a villagers car and drove off and again Evri did nothing until ( thanks to CCTV ) the police got involved then miraculously they were interested.

For over two years now I will not purchase from anyone on eBay that has Evri as the delivery option and I certainly don't use them to deliver anything and it's the same for many in our village as you never know if or when you will get your order so clearly it must be affecting eBay sales for those sellers if this is reflected elsewhere as Evri effectively has no discernable customer service unless a criminal charge pending.

Hi if every disgruntled buyer checks with the seller who is going to make the delivery if the answer is evri just get back to the seller and politely tell them no thank you as they are unreliable so there is no point in ordering in the first place saving you and the seller grief they will soon realise that they are loosing valuable customers and the buyers are not going to stand for it any longer regards brian

I’m sorry but this whole post is pure fantasy.

EBay accepted the fact that Evri tracking said delivered. I appealed, provided the tracing photo ( which they must have already had access to) along with my own photos of the area to give context. All to no avail.
I spoke to someone at eBay on the phone, to point out that their decision doesn’t reflect the law as leaving a parcel on a pavement close to my house doesn’t constitute delivery and until delivery it belonged to the seller. 
 Their tone showed that they agreed but there was nothing they could do. 
 As for getting Evri to accept that they didn’t deliver 😄 I challenge anyone, as a potential parcel recipient to contact Evri customer support. There is no such thing. No way to speak to someone on the phone and email receive a generic response. 
 Please try to be factual in your posts! 🙄

And it is getting worse with EBAY, I bought an item on the 5th July, and each day it says it's out for delivery from last week 9, the same 10,11,12, spoke to ebay, and they said they can delivery by the 13tn If i I have not

revied by then , I can ask for a refund, I told them that I think the date has change as I sure it was 12,

   I check today 13, and yes it has changed again now they deliver by the 14, so I have to wait for 15 to claim and last time I did this I had to wait two weeks to get my money back, AND THEY ARE CHARGING BUYERS FOR THIS SERVICE.

THIS IS JUST MADNESS AND EBAY ARE BACKING THEM UP, THEY ARE ALL JUST MONEY  GRABBERS, AND THE SELLARS AND BUYERS ARE  LOSING OUT,

Hi I get this every time with evri just get on to the seller and politely explain to them the problem and that you cannot wait for them to be bothered to deliver and that you wish to cancel the order as i cannot wait any longer and that as they are delivering for the seller it is there responsibility for them to deliver on time not yours they are contracted to them and that you cannot wait any longer for your purchase they will soon get the message that people are fed up with evri and they are not going to suffer there shoddy behaviour any longer regards brian

I try and avoid anyone who uses Evri, and check out exactly what a seller means by " other courier"

I just had one from Temu which was left in a really stupid place, and it got nicked.

Fortunately they are resending the whole thing with a courier of my choice.

I have warned them, even written to their chief exec, but they dont listen,  seems as if " cheap" wins the day.

I have to wonder if any of these companies try and compare the savings they make using Evri, as opposed to the losses ?

I have to doubt it

Maybe they just find Evri the most reliable over all? Why would a company keep using a firm that was constantly letting them down/costing them money? And why, oh why would you expect their chief exec to listen to you? How many millions are you spending with them?

I have only ever had 2 issues with Evri over thousands of parcels - both refunded quickly. RM on the other hand ...
