There are plenty threads with people complaining about Evri, many have replys from happy customers saying " I havn't had a problem with Evri" but if you did then you would find out just what a joke they are.
The measure of a company is how they deal with problems.
Try contacting customer services! They will email you quick smart.... but its just an automated reply, generic, sent to everyone that starts a chat on line .
Phone them...its no better.
They left my parcel outside in the street,(not the first time) its been stolen (also not the first time).
They have a tracking photo that proves non delivery, its in the street otside my closed door.
Yet ebay say the tracking shows delivered.
The sale of goods act 2015 means nothing to ebay.
For me, Evri is killing Ebay

True, option not always available.
Even when it is, it is never delivered, usually with the excuse "nobody was in" both to the Post Office and a 24/7 BP petrol station.
1 in 9 deliveries successful - the rest refunded by eBay - speaking to customer service I got the impression they receive a HUGE number of evri complaints.

In 15 years, perhaps 300 RM deliveries, not ONE has gone missing, although it is getting slower (most RM24 taken the same time as RM48 the last few months) they always arrive.
As I said 1 in 9 EVRI and the courier was angry and threw the package at me!
E-mailing them, promised call backs that never materialised, template email responses and a general "we don't give a sh*t" attitude prominent.
Like you I email sellers, if I see evri I usually skip the listing unless I really want the item and then I'll email them and ask to use RM... if they don't reply/can't use RM I just pass up on the deal.

With eBay closing my case yesterday [29 April 2026] and now with no item [purchased nearly 3 weeks ago]; no refund; no reply from seller, nor Evri 'support', I have just experienced this as an eBay buyer, having purchased from a seller where an item allegedly 'delivered' by Evri [22 April] had gone missing/stolen. When the late evening delivery time slot passed and still no delivery, despite waiting the entire day [noon - after 8pm], I then checked email, only to see Evri claimed to have 'delivered' nearly an hour earlier, leaving the item somewhere outside as 'Secure Delivery To Household'. They never bothered to even ring specific bell as instructed that is actually embedded within my eBay-registered delivery address. Had immediately contacted seller [sending screenshots], Evri support [received generic automated message and nothing further since], and filed INR with eBay where they were saying 'item may still be on its way'. The confirmation email from Evri showed GPS map next to a BLANK PHOTO as 'proof of delivery'. Attempting to get further information on the item, Evri's tracking website does not function either, and hasn't been for the past year, despite reporting the problem to them when attempting to track previous items over that period. The refund the seller assured would 'be in my account within 24 hours' wasn't [and still not] actioned, and eBay satisfied the item was 'delivered' have effectively also washed their hands of this. Have since appealed and awaiting further information, but in the meantime will contact my bank with supporting evidence of non-receipt of item.
When researching consumer rights/distance selling obligations, it transpires that if a courier has not been given prior instructions/permission/authorization to leave items outside in 'safe place' by the recipient, it is deemed as a 'failed delivery', regardless of whether a photo was produced as 'evidence' by them. Given the high level of theft and exploitation of this 'alternative delivery option', and actually witnessing from my living room window a man quickly coming onto the front of the property opening meter cupboards and checking behind bins only to be scared off by my banging from the window; I have never given any courier/postal company safe place/neighbours as an alternative delivery option as I ALWAYS ensure to be physically present when expecting tracked items; ergo which specific bell to ring for delivery.
Again from the buyer's perspective; with the contract between the seller and courier; it is also still the seller's responsibility to ensure that the item is actually in the recipient's possession. This current experience has been a systematic and appalling failure on all levels. Whatever 'Buyer Protection' is supposed to mean nowadays, purchasing items with no guarantee of physically receiving them is an absolute new low; when all that is required is any 'proof of delivery' notice [even without a photo] from the courier and it's 'job done'... everyone can go home. Sadly reconsidering my time after nearly two decades of being on this platform, where seemingly the default delivery provider for eBay buyers & sellers now consists of an incompetent and not-fit-for-purpose courier company.

Simply Avoid.
They are destroying ebay's reputation.

Buyer Protection is unrelated to claims of items not received (that is where the ebay Money Back Guarantee comes in)
Unfortunately - it is in the terms and conditions and we are seeing more instances of these issues where the item hasn't arrived (genuinely) but the tracking shows it was delivered.
Sadly, your only outcome is try your payment provider who may want more evidence, or as you are coming to the conclusion - shop somewhere else.

Happened to me, parcel left on apartment block doorstep on a main city street... marked as delivered.
Stolen (by the courier or a passer-by).
Emailed evri... template email promised a call back the next day... lies.... as expected the callback never materialised.
Lost £80 just like that.
Where the heck are consumer protections and regulatory agencies for such cowboys? They seem to be able to get away with anything.

Yes, thanks for your reply. I am aware of this. It was meant in the context of anybody seeing that would get the impression buyers are protected when shopping on this platform. I guess what needs to be added as a more realistic caveat is, 'Delivery Not Guaranteed'.

Echoing your experience 100%. A previous item ordered four days before this disputed item was also left outside in full view of the passing public. My very kind neighbor coming back from their errands saw this before even entering the property and brought it in. Meanwhile, stressed I couldn't run my own errands because of sitting indoors waiting indefinitely for that delivery too. I've never known a service to go downhill so rapidly where even the basic premise of a delivery company's requirement are not even being met. Misleading the public too, with their slogan 'delivery made for you', and like something out of the Truman Show; they have the unmitigated gall to show on their website a smiling Evri delivery man physically handing a large box over to a smiling delivery-recipient woman standing beside her smiling delivery-witnessing child at their main door! Or another picture in a bid to promote 'safe place' shows an Evri delivery woman, tucking a package by the bushes [thereby letting ALL folk know of potential places where to look].
