How can you trust what you see in eBay?

I have lo9ng known that lazy coders at eBay use caching  which means that what you see on screen is not necessarily the latest data. However, I came across an extreme case today. The Bidding section on My eBay shows this:

Go to Bidding History and I see:

"That's funny" I thought to myself, "I'm sure I bid £25 on that item". So I went back to place another bid, only to see:

So that is eBay showing three different figures simultaneously!

What rubbish! Let's just be thankful these coders aren't working on air traffic control!

Last time I checked Bidding History shows without BPF.

Main Item page shows with BPF.

24.34 * 1.04 +0.72 = 26.03

16.27 - no idea - probably just an old cached value as you say.

When you went  back, the main listing page showed a higher figure because there had been another bid.

Please forgive me , i was under the impression that Sellers Pay ebay so they can list their items. Expecting some kind of back up service.

The Seller has an incentive to ensure all pertinent Item details are outlined and clear to view by the potential Buyer.

Potential buyers browse or bid seeking items they want or require.

The process control is designed and operated by ebay - mostly choices are being eroded -  why is it that process related topics are abandoned, or is this void part of the Mentors Unpaid remit?

There is no 'unpaid mentors remit'.  Speaking for myself I 'abandon' pointless repetitive threads and focus on providing help where I can.

I do respond to process related topics when I have something useful to add, or a misunderstanding to correct.  I cannot change the process and see little point in joining in with the general moans.
