Hi there,
I'd really appreciate some advice. I received a poster in the post from the US yesterday sent via the Global Shipping Programme. As soon as I saw it I was worried as the tube looked crushed. Upon opening the poster has creases and damage on the top half.
I contacted the seller and they offered me a partial refund or a return. I don't feel like they should have to cover the cost of a shipping damage issue. How does it work with items posted in the GSP? I tried calling eBay this afternoon but after 45 minutes of waiting on the line I gave up!
Thanks so much 😊

You as the buyer should open a claim citing 'arrived damaged'
As the item was sent using GSP, eBay should refund you and the seller keep the payment.

Brilliant thank you. Does the seller need to do anything at their end do you know?

They may need to prompt and tell ebay in the case that its a GSP item and was damaged in transit on the GSP leg.

As the item was purchased from a US seller it will have been sent using the newer eBay International Shipping program rather than the Global Shipping Program. You are still protected in exactly the same way but unlike with the Global Shipping Program all refunds and returns are handled entirely by eBay so there will be no need for the seller to do anything; their involvement ended once the item was safely delivered to the international hub.

Ah thank you that's really good to know as they seem quite confused by the idea of having to contact eBay. So I'll just keep my fingers crossed it gets sorted by eBay.
Thanks again 🙏
