Counterfeit Dyson

Bought a Dyson Airstrait for my step-daughter, on 14th August, She and her husband came to visit from Botswana at the end of September. The item didn't work when opened. The seller is no longer on ebay! Ebay refused to refund as it was outside their 30 day window. Paypal declined to refund as they too have a time limit. Sent the item to Dyson in the hope of a "guarantee" repair only to be advised that it is a counterfeit product and will be destroyed.

I post this as a cautionary tale in the hope that others may learn from my experience.

It's a good post and hopefully anyone reading it will learn  when  buying anything from eBay, it's wise to test the item to ensure if it is fully working,  and as you have found out, the 30 day timeframe is set in stone no wavering from that, to receive a full refund.

Unfortunately now PayPal too , have the same window for returning any item not as described.

To add to your advice to other buyers, best to buy from the Company. Then the guarantees will be honoured. Companies like Dyson also have excellent aftercare service - which I know you tried to use - which is worth paying direct to secure. On more than one occasion I have known them to replace an entire unit in order to fix a glitch!
