Cheap Rubbish

I think I am walking from Ebay. Due to being disabled and not getting out often I rely on ebay to buy a few items. Fed up buying items ( many not  cheap)  look forward to it arriving only to find out it looks nothing like the photos and false information has been given in the description. £92 Just spent on 3 high white gloss side tables only to find out they are not high white gloss just cheap white *bleep* wood with half the screws missing. Seller sent a link for a spray that makes furniture shiny. If it was high white gloss it should not require anything done to it. Have been told to arrange my own collection of the rubbish even after saying I am disabled. Now I have to get Ebay involved. I want my £92 back. Seller not good . It was only a few weeks ago I had purchased fake perfume. No its not the seller said. Spoken to as if I am bloody daft. What do you do with sellers like this?

If any item you buy via eBay is 'not as described', use eBay's 30days Guarantee to open a case.

If the Seller wants the item sending back to them, they will have to issue return postage. If you need the item with postage collection contact eBay's Customer Services for them to issue the postage (mention your reason for this request)

If the Seller does not respond to the eBay's open case within 48 hours, eBay will issue a full refund.

Do not close the case until you have received a Full refund.

All the Best for the New Year.

It is extremely frustrating to receive a sub standard item,  one which looks like nothing as described in the listing, or shown in photos.

@ile136yz  is correct no point messaging a seller if they are not being helpful or stalling, turn to eBay's 30 day MBG which guarantees you a full refund.

The seller needs to pay for the return postage if it is a case for item not as described.  If collection from home is not available for the item,  you will need the help from a family member or friend to take the item to your Post Office.

The MBG is written on the right hand side of every listing.  The link below explains it, it's worth a read, as it can save you a lot of money when buying on eBay.

For items like new furniture etc, it's a good idea to do a bit of research first.  If the seller has sold a lot of that item, check out the feedback.  Usually, someone will have something to say if the item doesn't look like the picture. Or if it's 'a bit flimsy', or 'a nightmare to put together', etc etc..

If the item has a brand name, see if it's on sale elsewhere - there are often reviews on other sites, which may include real photos of the item - they can give a much more accurate idea of what the item is really like, than the 'glamorous' stock photos.

All basic stuff, but it's worth doing if it saves you the disappointment, not to mention the time & trouble of having to return a bulky item.
