Basket price higher than offer price

I’ve received a discounted offer on an item that I’m keen to purchase. I’ve added the item to my basket but the price showing in my basket isn’t the price the seller has offered to me. Is there anything I can do? Cheers

it’s the tax on top, of course! Brilliant, thank you!

Its probably the buyer protection fee added on. Either that or if the seller is registered in another country then the 20% vat will be added.

In order to advise properly you will need to provide more details.

How did you receive the offer from the seller, i.e. through the eBay offer system or as an email message?

Have you actually accepted the seller's offer?

How much was the offer for, what was the original price of the item, and what price are you seeing when you add it to your basket?

Edit:  Just seen that you have sorted it now so ignore my post.

Basket price higher than offer price

When a seller makes an offer to a buyer eBay  add the buyer protection fee onto the sale price

if you as a buyer make an offer to a seller the opposite happens, the buyer fee is taken off the sale price

go figure

'When a seller makes an offer to a buyer eBay  add the buyer protection fee onto the sale price

if you as a buyer make an offer to a seller the opposite happens, the buyer fee is taken off the sale price'

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The thinking behind this is (apparently):

The seller is making an offer of the minimum amount they will accept for the item; so the BPF is added to it for the buyer to pay. (so buyer pays more than the seller has offered it for)

The buyer is making an offer of the maximum amount they are willing to pay for the item; so the BPF is taken off that amount before it reaches the seller (so the seller gets less than the buyer has offered for it)

There is a sort of sense involved. But the problem is, it's not laid out clearly in the 'offers' process. So the result is currently an unpleasant suprise...
