Hi all .
Has anyone ever encountered this problem?
To have an EBay account you have to be 18 years or older. So I’ve had an EBay account since about 2011 and I’m nearing retirement.
So I’ve been buying old woodworking tools, chisels, saws, all sorts. Recently I made an offer for something and went to the checkout but I was told that I had to prove that I was over the age of 18 . Ok no problem.
Alas I’ve found that to do this you need to possess a credit card which I have never had. There must be some way around this. I’ve had eBay phone me but they were no help whatsoever, they couldn’t care less.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!

Unfortunately the only way around this is to maybe ask a friend who has a CC to pay as Ebay only accept a CC for payment.

As roger_roger_over_and_nowt says, there's no way 'round it as e-Bay refuse to accept other forms of proof like passports or driving licenses for this purpose. All you can do is ask somebody with a credit card to buy the things for you, which they can do as a Guest without being an e-Bay member, and then give them the money.

Hi thepillenwerfer .
Thanks for your input. You really wouldn’t believe it would you. This must cost eBay a lot of lost revenue. 👊
Thanks again
Nick.
