wrong item sent

I ordered a set of wipers for my car. I contacted the seller with the car registration number to confirm if this set would fit. They assured me  that it would. Now they sent me a set which does not fit (needs a hook fitting and this set has not got it) but I have to pay for a return which seems totally unfair. Incidentally the link for printing the return does not work! What are my options? I noticed some of the negative feedbacks are mentionning being sent the wrong item. Thank you for your help

It seems you've wrongly opened a return request for does-not-fit instead of not-as-described as you should have done. If so, you will have to pay for a tracked returns label if you continue with the return request, or sell the wipers on yourself.

 

To access an Ebay returns label if the 'print' link doesn't work (it sometimes doesn't), select the option to have the link emailed to you.

 

The other option is to check if you're eligible for PayPal's 'returns on us' promotion if it's still running. If so, opt in to it, and open a Not As Described case over there after closing the Ebay return request. You will have to pay for tracked postage, and then lodge a claim with PayPal for a postage refund using your proof of posting receipt.
