Hello,
I recently bought an item, to be fair I did not check the feedback closely - my fault.
Paid for the item, no response from seller.
Emailed seller to ask if dispatched, no response from seller.
Emailed again, no response.
Delivery estimated date passed, no response and no item.
Went to open request against them - seller has left eBay!
What can I possibly do now to get a resolution? I cannot find any contact details to speak to someone at eBay!!
Any advice much appreciated.
Sellers can't choose to leave until a full six months has passed from their last sale. So if their account no longer exists, it will be because Ebay has booted them off the site for being bad sellers.
That doesn't mean your item won't arrive. But if it hasn't arrived after a week has passed from the delivery estimate on the order, open an Item Not Received case. You may find that the transaction has been moved, to the very foot of your Purchase History page.
But if you find you can't open a case on Ebay, open one in PayPal or with your card provider.
You'll be refunded in full, unless the seller has tracking proving delivery to the address you provided at checkout.
It's possible that the account has been hacked, especially if not used until recently. Or, if regularly used and the problems have only risen recently, that the seller has been taken ill, had an accident, or possibly even died. But that isn't your concern. Just follow the case instructions, and escalate to Ebay if necessary. Don't close the case on a promise, as closed cases can't be reopened, and you won't be able to open another.
