problem with wrong image displayed whilst bidding

I recently purchased a set of chairs. there were two of us watching the screen as we bid. the seller had several items for sale, two of which had the same starting price., but were for different chairs. The image & details displayed were of the items we wanted, but after purchase the confirmation email displayed the image & details of the other set of chairs- the ones we didnt want !

So we are in the situation of having paid for items we didnt want, but as all the confirmations etc display the details of these we have no evidence that  the wrong image was displayed at time of bidding. 

We have resolved the issue with the seller, but at some cost - delivery charges etc.

We are completely baffled, but this definitely did happen!

Has anyone else experienced anything similar?

You need to start by checking the item number of the chairs you ordered, and making quite sure that this is the item number of the chairs you wanted. Despite your protestations, human error is the usual cause of mistakes.

If you're still convinced that the photos have changed, go to "View all revisions" (near the top of the description page) and check whether the seller revised the listing recently. It's just possible that they changed the photo at almost the same time you bid.

Fortunately, at least you have managed to resolve this with the seller.
