is login IP sensitive

For many months I have had an ongoing problem with login. It tells me I have entered the wrong password. I change the password but it still wont accept it so enentually I login with a code.

I spoke to the ebay people and eventually they decided that I was using the wrong browse so I changed from IE to opera. That was fine for a coulple of months when again my password wasnt being accepted.

This is a strange theory but is it possible that all our ebay accounts are IP sensitive. I ask cos I use a VPN for downloadidng torrents and my IP could be anywhere in the world when I login to ebay.

Is this possible or am I having a senior moment. thanks

using VPN will certaily cause problems with sites that are 'secure' as VPN makes it impossible for the site to confirm who is actually gaining access - it hides your location etc.

Hi pipmr thanks for coming back so soon. I am registered on ebay uk yet I live in spain. All pf my purchases are made from ebay uk with GBP. My ebay home page shows my Spanish postcode and the appropriate postage. Should I fix vpn to say Madrid when on ebay or Manchester, in the uk. Thanks

That is the problem, you are UK registered, but ebay are suspicious when you log in from Spain using VPN,
they think your account has been hacked.
