What will happen if you don't pay within a couple of days or so, is that the seller will likely open an Unpaid Item case against you to get the selling fee credited back to their Ebay account. Unless you pay then, you get an Unpaid Item strike slapped on your account. One won't hurt, but two will prevent you from buying from all sellers who have their accounts set to block non-payers.

If you're interested in bidding on something, but can't immediately pay, ask the seller if they will allow delayed payment. And ask before you bid, not afterwards.

If you win an item you should pay ASAP, if not seller can open unpaid case 2 days after sale end, you have 4 days before seller can close case.

You should message seller if you can't pay ASAP & hope they will wait, some will, some wont.

If you are not able to pay when you purchase, you should not be bidding, unless you have contacted the seller beforehand and obtained their agreement. Sellers cannot abide timewasters.

It won't expire and unless you agree with the seller he will not wait.

Sellers are charged 10% of the selling price the moment an item sells, it is not a game it costs them money, so they will not be pleased and you will end up on many Blocked Bidders Lists.
