how do I find an item by its item number?

I have an item number but cannot find the listing, can I trace it in the site map through the item number?

Copy and paste it in to ebay search bar and hit search button.

If nothing comes up tick the "sold" and "completed" items on the left and hit search again.

In addition to what has already been said with regards to locating the listing in question, if the listing you are searching for still does not appear in the search results, or in the completed or sold listings, then it's possible that the item may have been removed by eBay for breaching one or more of eBay's policies.  If that is indeed the case then you will not be able to find the listing anywhere on the site, even when using the Advanced Search Option.
