Hi. I am trying to buy hearing aids on ebay.
I am interested in Oticon hearing aids.
I understand that it is possible to buy via ebay
Oticon aids that are in fact the property of
the NHS. They have a special set of numbers on
them and are "locked" apparently.
Are there many of this type of hearing aid for sale on ebay?
Can anyone tell me how you can tell ahead of buying an aid
whether they are the no-no NHS sort?
Does ebay have any guidance/protocol when a buyer
lands up with one of these NHS aids?
I am trying to find out from ebay but have not succeeded so far.
I don't want to buy this sort but how can I tell ahead of time?
Why would you want to buy hearing aid off ebay or internet at all.
Much wiser to use local shop or NHS.
Everything you need to know about buying on Ebay is in the Help pages with their integral search (links at top and foot of any page). You should also carefully read Ebay's Money Back Guarantee, which is on every listing, and in various other places across the site, so that you understand what is covered and what is not. No-one here can give you specific advice about these hearing aids or any other product. It is up to you to do your homework.
I very much doubt whether - if an item belongs to the NHS and is locked - you can buy it; logic says not.
That said if someone sells you an item which is locked or othewise unusable you simply open a "not as described case" and return for refund at sellers expense
