Money back guarantee is on every listing except Vehicles and similar. You are supposed to read what the T & C are as that would answer your question. If even looking at a vehicle on ebay be extremely careful, if they show an email address or telephone number in the picture - SCAM. If they promise to deliver and you have 7 days in which you can get a refund - SCAM. Look at sellers other items and if there are thousands - SCAM. Look at sellers feedback and if items for sale in the past were not vehicles and then suddenly a lot of vehicles - Probably a Hacked account. Bank Transfers are not reversible, and once made the money is gone. If you do not receive your purchase then there is nothing you can do to get a refund.

Hello,

You've been a member for 15 years. Yet your question shows that you've never even glanced at the conditions for eBay's money back guarantee.

It's SO important to know how you're protected when buying frm starngers online. You can read the full details here: http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/policies/money-back-guarantee.html

NO.   It is like you paying cash for an item.

Why is the Seller wanting you to purchase an item by Bank Transfer?

IF this is for a vehicle of any description then neither Ebay nor Paypal give any protection whatsoever.

No, not normally, but if this is a collection item, you won't need buyer protection.  Collection items should only ever be paid for in cash or by bank transfer, once you've fully examined the item and are happy with it.

If you're being asked to pay in this way for something which the seller will be shipping to you, then there is no buyer protection unless the seller is in Germany (where bank transfer is the norm). You must pay by PayPal or card to be protected.

In addition to the advice already given, if the item in question is a vehicle of any description then make sure that you run a full HPI Check on it to see whether it shows up anything dodgy that would otherwise put you off.  Examples include, but are not limited to, outstanding finance on the vehicle, a history of the car having been stolen, any accident history, especially if there is accident history that points to the vehicle having been written off at some point and subsequently being repaired and returned to the road.  All of these things can affect the value of the car and can, in some cases, make some insurers less likely to provide cover for the vehicle, especially in relation to the point that I mentioned about written off vehicles being repaired and returned to the road.

If the item in question is a vehicle then so long as the HPI Check comes back OK and you are happy with the vehicle, having inspected it closely and taken it for a test drive to see how it handles, then pay the seller in cash for the vehicle.  If, however, the item in question is not a vehicle then I would suggest that you either pay via PayPal, or pay the seller in cash if it's a Collection In Person Only item.

NO!.

You are only covered if paying by paypal.

If collection item, YOU go in person, check item & pay cash.

If vehicle, NO EBAY PROTECTION, again go & check car before paying.
