Hi,
Won item 5 days ago listed as collection only and have messaged Seller who has not responded. He has only 3 positive feedbacks. Ebay has now followed up with a payment request.
Should I now pay by Paypal?? I have a feeling that seller feels that the item sold too low and hopes I go away so he can relist it. Will Paypal reimburse me if the seller continues not to play ball or am I wasting my time and put all of this down to experience? (Item value c£300)
Any comments appreciated...
It's a problem with collection. Most of us would view cash on collection as ideal rather than Paypal. There is a theoretical problem with collecting on Paypal in that the buyer could fraudulently clain that "someone else must have collected it" and claim a refund. The seller cannot show by tracked delivery that it was and the buyer would get a refund.
I suspect that if you feel it went at too low price there is little to do. If you do not pay the seller can open a case at which you pay. If you pay and he still does nothing you can open a "non-receipt" case. Ultimately of course you cannot compel the sale. You can leave feedback. You can resist any attempt to cancel with your consent when he would get stuch with £30 odd fees
