What can I do if a seller is refusing to message me back,

What should I do if a seller is refusing to message me back to my questions and messages, and is also refusing to let me know what the situation is regarding the late postage, therefore late delivery of my item, I have paid for?

Although I can understand your frustration at not receiving your item within the timeframe that you were expecting to receive it, it would be worth bearing in mind that given the current situation with regards to the coronavirus pandemic the courier's postal services may well be somewhat stretched at the moment owing to staff either being furloughed or taking time off due to becoming ill and needing to self-isolate, thus placing a greater strain on the remaining staff to get the item to you in time.  Therefore, I'd allow a bit longer than you may otherwise have done under normal circumstances during which to receive your item - say, for example, an extra three working days.

Having said that, however, if you still haven't received the item by the time you reach the date that you've decided upon as your cut-off point for waiting patiently for the item and the seller has still failed to respond to your e-mails then open an Item Not Received dispute in the eBay Resolution Centre.  For the next week it'll be up to you and the seller to try to resolve the matter via the eBay Resolution Centre; however, should this subsequently prove to be impossible to achieve then once the eight days have passed escalate the matter to eBay so that they can step in and make a decision with regards to the case.  eBay tend to side with the buyer in the majority of cases, so if you still haven't received the item by that point then eBay will step in and force a refund, in which case you'll get your money back in full.

Nothing you can do if a seller is not communicating,  have they marked the item as dispatched?  Some do not do this,  so do not hold too much notice if this has not been selected.

Has a reasonable time passed your item's last estimated date for delivery?  What was it.?

Items in general are being delayed because of this covid19 crisis we are all in.

You can't make a seller communicate. All you can do is as soon as the delivery date has passed, you can open a Not Received Case to get a refund.

It is of course possible that seller is ill or worried about posting and does not know what to do.

Just use the EBay Money Back Guarantee is on every Listing Page and open a Case for Item Not Received. Escalate the Case for Ebay to Step in on day 9.

You have 30 days from the last Estimated Delivery Date.
