Verify yourself before bidding

Today with ten seconds or less to the end of an auction I try to bid on a item.

Well surprise surprise what pops up on the screen ?  You need to verify yourself before bidding on this item . 

So now with a couple of seconds to go I'm expected to verify myself.  Unbelievable 

Thanks for FA EBay .  You have finally done it again . 

Nothing suprises me now. Thought I'd had all the dramas you cause.  Never had this one before.

I have not experienced your problem but after reading this I went into My eBay - Account Settings and discovered that neither my email address nor my telephone number were "verified"!  It's sorted now so hopefully it won't happen to me in the future.

The account I'm using was opened in 2005. I sell on here and pay EBay the fees I owe without fail . My phone number is verified and so is my bank details , PayPal , Email etc. I really wanted this item that does not come up very often. I would of won it as I was willing to pay high. Gutted ...
