I made an offer which was accepted.
But the seller had updated the item price listing. Therefore when I go to pay it is deducting the price difference from the new listing price and not the original price in which my offer was made. My shopping basket is also not showing the offer price accepted in my email.
What can I do?
The seller can't change the accepted offer price (I assume you made the offer through the MAO link on the listing). It's set in stone, so that is what will appear on your Ebay invoice, plus any shipping costs.
The only other charge you might see is if the seller is outside the UK and the item and shipping total is under £135. Under those circumstances, Ebay is required to collect 20% VAT from you on the government's behalf. This is now happening in place of it being collected from you by the carrier once Customs have assessed the goods after they enter the country. This is a very good thing, as there will now be no carrier's admin fee to pay for collecting the VAT on the government's behalf.
