I am not sure what is happening here, long story short. Seller agreed to accept return of faulty item and issued a return postage label.
Items returned and received by seller on the 16th oct. Seller then issues paypal refund on16th which is still pending.
Ebay also emails me about the same time saying; the seller has received the item and quote You should receive a refund by 20 Oct, 2020
Fast forward to this evening and I get a message from the seller asking me if I received a refund, I said yes but it is still pending in paypal and should clear this week.
About an hour later, I get an email from ebay saying case closed and I won't receive a refund, with a link to appeal.
What's going on here?
It seems the refund was made by e-cheque, and the e-cheque failed. You should have received an email from PayPal telling you this. Have you...? You can check the details in your PayPal account too.
If this is what has happened, contact PayPal for assistance. They should refund you from their own coffers, as per their buyer protection policies, and then chase the seller for their loss.
If this isn't what has happened, appeal as instructed.
