Hello,
A seller gave me a tracking number for an item that cost £5 plus £5 for shipping. I never received the item. The Royal Mail tracking site says that the item was delivered, and even has a signature by someone else than me (although maybe that could be explained by the coronavirus distancing measures).
Is there a way I could ask Royal Mail for details, including the delivery address, of that parcel?
I suspect the seller wasn't happy that he only got £5 for the item (I was the only bidder and the fact is that the item is worth a bit more than that).
Thank you!
Edited to add: I'm afraid the seller sent the item to someone else, maybe even himself, and gave me that tracking number anyway. He has three negative feedback for items not sent in his history.
The seller has obviously sent it as if the item shows as delivered then it must have been delivered somewhere by the postman.
Ask your seller if they could contact the Post Office and ask them to look into this for you, I doubt they would talk to you about it as their contract is with the sender although you could try.
Then if you open a case you will win, as they have to post the item to the address in the Paypal transaction, yours, or it invalidates the case and you will win the refund.
So open the case, and escalate on days 9 - 21. @dethvader
Tressygirl thank you for your comment. I don't want to open the case now, before being sure about what happened, as I don't want to be unfair to the seller in case he really sent the item to me. But it's a fact that he has some negative history regarding items not being sent.
If I open the case, how does the seller prove to paypal that he sent the item to me?
Put tracking number into RM website, will show what delivery office delivered it.
If not your area, then try phonging paypal to open case & explain what area parcel was delivered to.
Sellers must send to the address shown in buyers PayPal
just a thought...
have you moved recently ? Is it possible that you have not amended your details both in eBay and PayPal accounts?
The seller may or may not have been happy with the price but it was still delivered, if the seller sent to the address which was written on the Paypal transaction you will not win any case for item not received.
Have you opened that case? It will only close in the seller's favour if the above was carried out.
Signatures do not have to be that of the recipient, especially now with social distancing posties / couriers are signing the item themselves when delivered at the doorstep, that is when it is scanned and tracking entered as delivered.
Couriers will normally only talk with the sender, not the recipient.
