Unbelievable!
I purchased an item #174334645360 (an AVR development board) from a business seller "ri-services" for a buy it now price of £39.98
I was contacted a day or two later (after the weekend) by them, and in the message they said:-
"Hi, Huge apologies but this item is missing from our stock. Is there anything in our store of similar value that would be a suitable replacement or would you prefer a full refund?
My sincerest apologies once again for the inconvenience caused."
I thought that as they possibly carried a good deal of stock then such a mistake was possible, so i agreed to a refund.
However, I have now found that they have relisted the exact same item for £54.98 (eBay item number:
Leave negative feedback, just say " Seller did not honour the sale and relisted", then there is no excuse for the feedback to be removed.
This usually happens when a seller has started an auction too low and only gets one bidder, but with a BIN the seller sets the price so to cancel the sale is very foolish. He will of course still pay paypal fees, but by agreeing to the cancellation you have allowed him to get the selling fee refunded.
It is very bad ebaying but no one can force the seller to sell an item.
If you agreed to the cancellation then the seller will get their fees back.
You could try reporting to ebay but doubt the would take any action
You should be able to leave appropriate feedback but be careful what you say
Don't mention ebay or dispute.
