Return policy for cash payments

Hi, I am very keen on some very expensive item for sale on ebay. However, the seller is insisting on cash payment and collection in person only. Not sure as to what my rights are if I do not pay by paypal if the item were to be returned.

Could someone clarify?

No rights at all. Seller cannot refuse Paypal although not wise for buyer or seller.

If you collect you have to examine carefully and only if fully satisfied do you pay as there is NO RETURN or REFUND that you can enforce through ebay.

Having to take legal action wold no doubr be costly and no guarantee that it would get you anywhere.

The seller is absolutely correct to insist on cash (or bank transfer) for collection items - it's the only safe payment method, for both parties.

Not sure why this bothers you, though. You don't pay for a collection item until you've fully examined it and are 100% happy with it. If not happy, you simply walk away, cash still safely in pocket or bank, and the seller cancels the transaction to recoup the selling fee.

Cash is the only option for collection really.....it is best for buyer & seller

You go, inspect & only pay if happy......therefore the Money Back Guarantee would not really apply for collection items, plus if the seller is now & you used Paypal they could have to wait 21 days before they receive payment.......I wouldn't let you collect goods then have to wait 21 days for my money
