If you purchase an item on eBay that is not located in the UK at the time of purchase then you will have to pay 20% VAT on the item when you make payment. Even if the item is already located in the UK, if the person selling the item is registered in a country outside of the UK then you will still have to pay 20% VAT on the item when you come to pay for it.
