I've won an auction but the seller doesn't want me to pay with PayPal as the seller has been locked out of his account..i've tried to pay with my debit card but it is not allowing me to do so as it's unavailable ..the seller has asked me to pay by BACS..is it safe?..what can i do?
BACS is only safe for collection items, where you can fully examine the item to make sure it's as described before making payment.
In any case, Ebay's Money Back Guarantee will only protect you if you pay the seller via PayPal. So there is nothing you can do if PayPal have shut down the seller's account. If the seller opens an Unpaid Item case against you, and you find you still can't pay via PayPal, contact Ebay to let them know - they can read the messages that have passed between you - and the Unpaid Item strike should be removed from your account.
No it isn't. PayPal process all Card Payments. I use my Debit Card through PayPal all the time.
Your seller has paypal issues for a reason.
If you pay any other way you run the risk of losing your money let alone the item.
Could be a hijacked account.
Your seller should not be listing items if they have no paypal account that can accept payments.
Walk away.
