Paid for item with debit card. Seller cancelled order as no stock. Told upto 30 days for refund.

Seller phoned me and said they have no stock. Blamed ebay for listing it when they have no stock. The item has been cancelled.They have said that as i paid with card it can take upto 30 days to get refund. This refund should be immediate.They took my money straight away so why does it take longer to give it back to me. I need this money to buy the item from somewhere else.

If you paid for the item with a credit card it can take up to thirty days for the refund to go back to the card; however, if you paid for the item with a debit card then the refund should show up again within seven days.

Only when you pay with funds already in your paypal account are refunds INSTANT. Debit Card Payments take 7 days to go back to Bank, Credit Cards 30 days to go back to card.

If a refund has been started then the PAID symbol in your purchases will have changed to the Refunded Symbol.

It is up to seller to avoid listing when out of Stock. Cancelling for being out of Stock means they still pay the selling fee.
