It's been well over 8 days and no "step in" option!

I started a return on the 23rd May, and the email told me that "you can ask us to step in from 01 Jun, 2020" with a clickable link to the page where it shows the return process steps. It's now way past the 1st June and there's still no button for ebay to step in? 

The return is listed as "Doesn't work or is defective" as the item doesn't switch on, even after multiple attempts and many different methods of trying to charge the item it just doesnt work. Also the item description said that it would come with instructions.. But there are no instructions so the item isnt as described.

The seller has informed ebay that they "can't buy a return postage label for you to return your item" - for which the seller is responsible for return postage and refund of item.

The price to return the item is around £15 if i was to post it myself without this postage label, then the value of the item is around £19.

They are only offering me a refund of £10 at this moment, and there is no option for eBay to step in yet!

If i was to post it myself without a label, surely i'm not guarenteed to get my postage money back?

What am i doing wrong it's driving me crazy.

It looks like you have opened an ordinary return case and not one that stated item not as described,  even though you added into Notes somewhere ' not working'.

I believe you are not getting that escalate option,  because the item item has not been posted back,  the case is waiting for that valid tracking number to be entered.

Basically,  it's no return,  no refund.

Only a case opened for item not as described,  will enforce the seller to pay for that fully tracked return postage.
