Hi ebayers. I bought a Hermes Birkin bag for alot of money. Had it checked & just been told its fake. I've summitted a return request. Bought via paypal will i get all my money back as i am worried as it was £4500. should i leave a negative review now or wait till refund resolved as i don't want anyone else to fall for this buyer. thanks.
If it was Bag you bought from Italy, you will have to pay to return via tracked postage at your cost.
Suggest you contact paypal to open case, they have a scheme to refund postage cost (don't know full details).
You have to careful, may end up costing you a lot of money, so better to try & speak to paypal.
You don't say how long ago you purchased the item, but if it was within the last thirty days then open an Item Not As Described case in the eBay Resolution Centre. If the matter cannot be resolved amicably then when eBay give you the chance to escalate the matter to them then make sure that you do so, in which case eBay will step in and, if necessary, force the refund from the buyer so that you get your money back again.
In the event that you've left it too late to open a case against the seller via eBay then open an Item Not As Described Case against the seller via PayPal. PayPal allow buyers one hundred and eighty days to open a case against a seller, although if you do open a PayPal case then make sure that you escalate it to PayPal after two days, and before the twenty day cut-off point. If you leave it any longer than that then the case will time out and you will not be able to open another one. However, PayPal tend to be very good at checking cases closely, far more so than eBay, so even if eBay decide in the seller's favour for some reason you could still open a PayPal case and get your money back that way.
