Can I add a US address to my ebay account (I'm in the UK but have family I could ship things to)?

I'm looking to buy an item for which the seller hasn't given an international shipping option, and they aren't on the GSP. I have family over there (actually in the same state as this item) which I could get it shipped to. Is there any issue with me adding their address to my ebay account? 

So it appears that adding a US address to my ebay account wouldn't matter, and it's not possible to add a foreign address to a paypal account, is the solution for me to bid and then get the seller to paypal invoice me for whatever the shipping cost will be to my family in the US?

Ask them to buy and ship it to you.

I'm not going to ask them to bid because it's a bidding listing, not just a straight purchase.

What would that achieve? If the seller does not ship overseas, then it would make no difference, particularly as the seller should only post to the address shown on the PAYPAL payment. Address on ebay would be irrelevant.

If they only quote P & P for the UK then you would run up against a situation where you could not pay.

Whatever you try to do you need to get the sellers agreement first.

What? The item is in the US, as implied by me saying it was in the same "state" and me wanting to add a US address. Why would I want to add a US address to an item if it was in the UK? I've already said I'm in the UK.

Geez, some people are in such a hurry to have a go that they don't even read questions properly. This forum is getting to be a crummy place to ask for advice.

If you think someone doesn't understand something, why not be pleasant to them? Instead of saying things like "what would that achieve?"
