Negative feedback given but has disappeared

I gave negative feedback to a seller for what he/she  claimed i have not checked the parts comparrison chart !! I had done a comparrison check and the photo on the listing was what i wanted . I recieved a item that was poor quality and was not the item i ordered . They said i was in the wrong and would have to pay postage . lol.... My issue is how has my feedback dissapeared and if they have managed to get Ebay to remove it and have done this for other neg feedback how does that give a true representation of a company selling **bleep** !! how does that protect buyers or should i say how does it help a buyer to make up their mind whether to buy from them . If ebay has removed it then they should be giving the buyer the oppertunity to have it reinstated for good reason otherwise ebay are covering up bad sales practices.

You've just reiterated one of my original pints about all this, you see a 100% positive seller & think, are they really??? Sellers that do put in a lot of effort but get the odd negative are penalised because they don't know how to get rid of them like the sellers we're talking about. I haven't checked on the seller I was monitoring for ages so I'll do it now. They have 4 negatives. These will soon disappear & I can guarantee they've had 3 to 5 a week since my last check about 5 weeks ago!!! eBay is going downhill anyway, way less items in any of the searches I do!!!

The current feedback system is totally unfit for purpose anyway. In the past 6 months Ive monitored it and the amount of people who leave feedback has gone down to 32% of my sales , so the feedback is meaningless. Add to that ebays own admittance that they manipulate negative feedback so it doesnt affect hi volume sellers and surely the best thing they could do is scrap it all together !!!

Negative feedback given but has disappeared

We bought a car part from a seller that uses a list with cars that clearly states parts are fitting on the vehicle listed in this list. When the part arrived ( electronic schock absorber ) there was a note in the package saying " If you get an error message after installing the part don't write a review about this issue but send it back to us ". We did send the item back but there were 2 adresses on the sellers ebay page. We did send the item to 1 of the 2 adresses but now they say that the adress for sending back items is the other one on their page. The part is delivered to this adress and they don't send it back to us so we can send it to the 2nd adress that is written on their ebay page. eBay is not helping us and the seller is not answering anymore. This is complete nonsense. We paid €300 for parts that the seller did know that doesn't work on the car of our customer. We also did lose this customer because of the bad service this seller is offering. What can we do the get our money back? Thanks : (

You should open a case with through eBay. Although eBay has become too
important to contact, they do still handle cases

I already did but they say that the item has been sent to a wrong adress 😞

It's a wrong adress for sending back items but it's the main adress of the seller on his eBay page.

If they don't send us back the item how are we suppose to send it to the right adress?

I don't understand how eBay would see that as relevant as it's still that
company you sent it too. It should be down to them to get it sent from the
wrong address to the right address & nothing to do with you. Especially if
it doesn't specify which is the return address. You, & others, should learn
a valuable lesson from this, never, ever, ever send anything back without a
pre paid postage label. In your case, his comment about not leaving a
review if it didn't work should have been an enormous red flag

We even got a message from eBay saying the seller must send us a pre paid postage label. But the seller was not OK with sending us this return label so we did send it with our own postal service and of course to the wrong adress...

Seems to me you've been unintentionally scammed. By unintentional, I mean
he didn't start out with that intention but unfortunately you allowed it to
happen so easily. I'm sorry but just learn from this. Try adding a proof of
posting to the case.

A scan of your postal receipt or something like that

I understand but it might help if eBay sees the receipt & knows for sure

I left genuine negative feedback for a seller that sent a faulty part and was not willing to refund, customer service was non existent and a true cowboy outfit, however, my negative feedback was removed and ebay could not give any reason why it had been removed. It became perfectly clear that ebay are removing genuine negative feedback for their top sellers that pay them good fees and in effect then misleading buyers that are trying to make a reasoned decision if they should order from a company based on feedback, ebay are complete rogues as well and hope their revenue suffers and buyers refuse to use them more and more

Yes, this happens all the time. E-bay really should just completely remove the feedback system. It is so dodgy.

All negative feedback is genuine in the eyes of the person leaving it.

However breaching eBay feedback policy makes it easy to get removed. What did you write?

Allow me to clarify feedback policy for you:

'E-bay can delete any feedback they want, whenever they want. Just give us more money.'

I've got screenshots of a 100% sellers negatives and not a single one
breaches anything. I also have screenshots of the feedback pages after
they've been removed.

Then you and eBay disagree about it breaching.

One or two words can work well. People leaving entire essays make it usually dead easy to get eBay to remove.

Indeed they can. Appears they also remove any that breaches policy when a seller asks them to.
